Gas Saving Software from GasPredictor.com
Here are some computer utilities to help you keep track of your car's performance and operating costs. All are fully functional and free to download and distribute.
Do you have a program or spreadsheet like these that you would like to share? Please use our Tips Submission page to tell us about it. Or send an e-mail to info@gaspredictor.com to tell us what you would like to share.
Right-click on the link, then select "save target as ..." in order to download each item.
- Gas Mileage Tracker Spreadsheet. Works in Excel 97 or later, and OpenOffice Calc 3.0. Enter your odometer (mileage reading) and the number of gallons of fuel each time you gas up, and this spreadsheet displays your gas mileage in three different views: Overall, since last fill-up, and sliding average of last ten fill-ups. It shows you when your gas mileage changes, so you know something needs attention. Full instructions included. Free to redistribute if you do not modify it.
- Gas Mileage Payback Spreadsheet. Works in Excel 97 or later, and OpenOffice Calc 3.0. Enter the gas mileage of your current car, how far you drive each week, the gas mileage of the car you're thinking of buying, and the price of that car. The spreadsheet will tell you how long it will take for the new car to pay for itself in gas savings. This was designed to work for motorcycles, too. Even if you don't drive your motorcycle every day or all year long, the spreadsheet can figure out how much you're saving on a proportional basis. Full instructions included. Free to redistribute if you do not modify it.
Check back often, as we will add more utilities to this collection every few weeks or so.
