    More About Our Subscriptions

    What do you mean, "Subscriptions are closing soon"? We will soon stop accepting subscriptions to our e-mail Gas Predictor Newsletters and instead offer an online version. Some highlights:

    • All e-mail subscriptions current as of the time we stop taking e-mail subscriptions will be honored, and subscribers will be able to continue renewing their e-mail subscription as long as they wish.
    • All e-mail subscribers with current subscriptions as of the time we stop taking e-mail subscriptions will be eligible for free access to the online version if they wish.
    • The total number of subscribers, e-mail plus online, will still be limiited to 2,000 per locale in which we offer gas price predictions.
    • We will continue posting "yesterday's predictions" on free-to-access pages as we do now, but we will publish tomorrow's gas prices on pages which will be available only to paying subscribers.
    • The online subscriber-only pages will be suitable for access by mobile devices or conventional computers.
    • We plan to implement the cut-over from e-mail to online subscriptions "real soon now," but we still do not have a definite date. It will probably be within January, 2012.

    Why subscribe? It's just FUN to get one over on the oil compamies! Smirk at rising gas prices, knowing that your tank is filled with yesterday's cheaper gas.

    What's in the Gas Predictor newsletter? The prediction (like the main page of this Web site), the track record (like the Track Record page of this Web site), and subscriber information about how to change or cancel your subscription.

    When is it published? Every business day between about 5:30 PM and 6:30 Eastern. Very rarely later, depending on when commodiities market closing data are published.

    Cancelation/Refund Policy? You may cancel for a full refund within the first two weeks, or a pro rata refund after that. No refunds in the last two weeks of a subscription.

    Converting Subscriptions? Existing subscribers have first dibs on new local editions. Convert to a new local edition at no additional charge when it becomes available.

    Why the limited number of subscriptions? Too many people using our predictions in a given locality could create surges in demand that would pressure retailers to change their prices in ways that we can't account for.

    Yes, everyone in the country has access to our predictions at around 8:30 AM Eastern Time the next day, but by then, it's pretty much old news. Prices have usually already begun to move in the direction we predicted the evening before.
